Where Is Your Faith?

When the fierce storms are raging,
The waves are sweeping o'er.
When the load is so heavy
You can carry no more.
When you're swamped on stormy sea
And you can't see the shore.
Jesus asks, "Where is your faith?"

When the bills are surmounting
And your income is low.
When the doctor's prognosis
You would rather not know.
When you stand at life's crossroads
And don't know where to go.
Jesus asks, "Where is your faith?"

For it's in life's crucible
Our faith is put to test.
And it's in bitter trials
God elicits our best.
He just wants us to trust Him
And he will do the rest.
Thus He asks, "Where is your faith?"

The Best Is Yet To Come

Gramma would kneel in her garden
And her seeds there she would sow.
She'd pat them gently with her hand
And water them so they'd grow.
"Each seed," she'd say, "is a mir'cle,"
And a melody she'd hum.
She'd turn to me and then would say,
"Oh, the best is yet to come!"

"The best is yet to come for us;
God's miracle we will see.
For the best yet to come for us
God has planned for you and me."

I grew and I went off to school
And, oh, how I struggled so.
But Gramma then reminded me
Of the seeds I'd watched to grow.
She said, "The best in life takes time."
And then she'd begin to hum
The song she sang as seeds were sown,
"Oh, the best is yet to come!"

"The best is yet to come for you;
God's miracle you will see.
The best is yet to come for you;
It awaits both you and me."

Now many years have come and gone
And my gramma said, "Come near.
My time on earth will soon be o'er,
And I will be leaving here.
Remember the seeds you'd watched me sow
And the melody I'd hum.
It taught us how to trust in God,
For the best is yet to come."

"The best is yet to come for us;
We will walk the steets of gold.
The best is yet to come for us
When Lord Jesus we'll behold."

Fam'ly and friends soon gathered 'round
For Gramma's homecoming day.
They shared how she had touched their lives
In a very special way.
But when it was my turn to speak
With tears I began to hum
The song she sang when seeds were sown
"Oh, the best is yet to come!"

The Touch of the Master's Hand

Life bruised the man from brutal blows;
Tormented, his heart did cry.
Forsaken, he felt all alone,
And he asked God, "Why, oh, why?"

Poor health drained him of all his strength,
And friends left him all alone.
He wandered aimlessly in search
Of a place to call his own.

"Unclean, unclean!" you'd hear him cry,
And people would move away.
Except for one man who said, "Come!
There's healing for you today."

He had heard them call him Jesus
When he met Him on the street.
Jesus reached down and touched the man
Who fell prostrate at His feet.

Then Jesus took him by his hand,
And He said, "My son, arise!
Go to the priest and show yourself."
The man couldn't believe his eyes.

His once-scarred flesh was now restored
As Christ raised him up to stand.
You could hear him shout, "Praise to the Lord!"
As it echoed throughout the land.

When friends and fam'ly looked at him,
They couldn't understand.
With joy he cried and then replied--
'Twas the touch of the Master's hand!"

The Witness of Joy

They called her Joy, and fitly named,
Though life had dealt her its blow;
Paralyzed, she couldn't run or walk,
Yet her face was all aglow.

Children loved to gather around,
For encouragement she'd bring.
She'd fill the air with joyful sound;
Exuberantly she'd sing:

"On legs of hope and feet of joy
I move in the dance of grace,
And Jesus holds me in his arms
As I rest in his embrace.

"Then hand in hand, I run with faith
Through God's peaceful meadows fair,
And climb up to the mountaintop
And observe God everywhere."

With ev'ry note her face would glow
And all around her could hear
The joyful sound that would resound
And fall on listening ear.

Though wheelchairbound on earthly ground,
Her witness was plain to see;
For it was evident to all
Her spirit ran joyfully.

We Are the Light

The story is told of a nobleman
Who built a grand church of renown,
But when people gathered to worship there
No lights in the church could be found.

So then one by one he gave each a lamp,
In darkness of night all could see
As every lamp illumined and glowed
The room was then lighted brightly.

"Now each time you are present," he told them,
"The darkness around us will flee.
But when you're not here, your place will be bare;
We'll miss the light where yours should be."

Now I have heard this is a true story
That illustrates for us clearly
How important it is to be present
To shine our light for all to see.

I have noticed your light has been missing,
And I send this to let you know,
When at church you're not there, your place is bare;
We miss your light's radiant glow.

We're Blessed As We Forgive (Joseph)

He had more than enough reason
To hold back and not forgive,
For Joseph suffered rejection
By his closest relatives.

When lowered into a cistern
All alone and sore afraid,
Feeling desperately rejected,
Cries to spare his life were made.

He was sold for a small ransom,
Stripped of dignity and pride;
Tears of anguish found no pity,
Mercy's plea was there denied.

Joseph suffered bitter anguish,
Haunting memories of pain;
He had reason for resentment,
Cause to bitterly complain.

Yet instead he chose forgiveness,
Showing mercy as God would;
While he knew his brothers meant harm,
God intended it for good.

Healing came with Joseph's pardon.
Grace rebuilt for him again
His home destroyed once by envy;
Mercy restored peace within.

Joseph shines as an example
How we all should daily live,
By extending grace and mercy,
For we're blessed as we forgive.

My Prayer for You

When I arise to kiss the sun,
Before my day has e'er begun
I find a place of solitude
Where I express my gratitude.

I steal away alone in prayer,
A quiet place where God is there,
For I dare not face my day anew
Until I've breathed a prayer for you.

I ask God to please linger near,
To heal each hurt and dry each tear,
For wisdom in decisions made,
For peace when storms your soul invade.

I plead that all your plans succeed,
That He will meet your ev'ry need
And make provision of His grace
To guide you through each day you face.

You're not alone for God is there;
I know because God answers prayer.
So as you face your day anew,
Be mindful of my prayer for you.

No Holding Back

The young man's eyes glanced heavenward
To the lofty mountainpeak,
And in this holy moment
He could hear God clearly speak.

The voice of God was calling him
To heights he had never known.
As he made his upward journey,
He would never walk alone.

"On Promise Peak I will provide
And supply your ev'ry need.
Sunrise of blessings you will view
Where I'll guide and safely lead.

"Remove the weights of fear and doubt
For they're keeping you earth bound,
And trade them for new shoes of faith
Where you'll climb to higher ground.

"Though trials may tempt to hinder you,
Just keep your eyes on Me,
I'll lead you where the faithful trod
And true wonders you will see."

The young man said, "I'm ready, Lord,
No holding back for me.
Lead me to the narrow path;
I commit to follow Thee.

"No, nothing will e'er hold me back,
For I have fixed my eyes today
On heaven's heights where love abides
And God's grace shines full display."

O Little Lamb

The lowly shepherd sat so still
Watching o'er his flock by night.
The velvet sky was filled with stars,
Painting a glorious sight.

Nestled closely in loving arms,
His sweet lamb quietly lay
While the shepherd sang so softly,
Gently stroking him that day.

The stillness of the starlit night
So inspired his heart to sing,
"O little lamb of God's delight
Everlasting joy you bring.

"And one day you will give your all,
A sacrifice you will be.
O perfect lamb, one day you'll die
And you'll give your life for me."

Then all at once an angel came,
And he said, "Good news I bring.
For unto you in Bethlehem
Is born Christ the Lord and King.

"Go now and see this little child
Lying in a cattle stall.
Go quickly, son, to see the one
Who is born the Lord of all."

Gently carrying his lamb in arms,
His heart overflowed with joy.
He knelt before the infant child,
God's heaven-sent baby boy.

He gave his precious little lamb
As a gift to Christ the King.
And the peace of this holy night
Then inspired his heart to sing.

"O little Lamb of God's delight,
Everlasting joy You'll bring,
You'll one day freely give Your life
As God's perfect offering.

"O little Lamb of God's delight,
I now worship You today
As King of Kings and Lord of Lords,
Heaven's Light to show the way."

Refashioned

The lady stood and gazed into
The Mirror on her wall,
And what she saw reflected there
Made her feel so small.

She sought the perfect makeover
With blush to add a glow,
Adorned herself with sparkling jewels,
Wore style from head to toe.

Yet nothing seemed to change her view;
With every passing glance,
She witnessed in her mirror there
Her failing countenance.

She said, "I know what I must do.
I know who will help me.
I will now seek my Designer
Who carefully fashioned me."

She bowed before the Lord in prayer
And asked Him to come in
To cleanse her heart and save her soul
And change her from within.

Refashioned in Christ's likeness now
Her beauty one could see;
The image in her mirror viewed
Appeared much differently.

She saw the kindly eyes of Christ,
A smile upon his face,
For now the image that she bore
Reflected God's sweet grace.

"Put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness" (Ephesians 4:23b-24).

Teacher's Prayer

Lord, help me be aware of the potentiality
That lies within each precious child that You have sent to me.
Help me to see through Heaven's eyes their possibility
And daily instill values that will last eternally.

You've shown Your faith in me with this responsibility
And, Lord, I pray You'll never be dissatisfied with me.
But, Lord, I must ask You for Your strength to meet the task,
That daily You will help me--that's all I really ask.

For when I grow impatient, slow me down and speak to me
And remind me of the child that I once used to be.
Lord, grant to me the wisdom that I need to thus impart
And nurture the potential You have planted in each heart.

For they're like a tender flower awaiting to unfold
And, oh, the awesome beauty that one day we will behold.
So, Lord, I want to thank You for Your trust and confidence,
And for the opportunity to make a difference.

The task will not be easy; but, if You will work through me,
Together we will change a life for all eternity.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY IDEAS UNLIMITED

The Copper Penny

A man who possessed great riches
And well-known throughout the land,
Stooped to pick up a coin one day
And he clasped it in his hand.

It was just a copper penny.
Why would he bother that day
To stoop and reach into the dust
As he passed along his way?

I then asked him, "Is that penny
Of great value; is it rare?"
So the man held up the penny
And he then began to share.

He read the words, "In God we trust"
On this copper coin engraved;
And he said, "That makes it priceless
And so worthy to be saved.

"Without the Lord I would be lost
And so penniless I know.
God's proven as I trust in Him
His rich blessings He'll bestow.

"The copper penny in my hand
So reminds me of God's love.
Engraved with words 'In God we trust'
Keeps my mind focused above."

He placed the penny in my hand
And he said, "Here is the key
To blessings in this world below
And to true prosperity."

How rich am I this penny made;
Impoverished I'll ne'er be.
Engraved upon my heart inside:
"Oh, Lord, I will trust in Thee."

Is Anything Too Hard for God?

God had promised Sarah a child
But her years were passing fast,
And Sarah knew without a doubt
Her child-bearing years had passed.

So she devised a special plan,
For no longer would she wait.
Her servant girl bore her a child,
Her life to complicate.

But God's plan was not yet finished,
For Sarah would bear a son.
Many nations would be blessed through her.
God's perfect will would be done.

When Sarah overheard the news,
She laughed and thought, "Oh, my!
Can a woman of my age give birth?
Will God's blessings multiply?

"Is anything too hard for God?
Is there nothing I can't do?"
God said, "When I return again,
A son will be born to you."

Like Sarah we may question when
God's hand seems slow to move,
But then regret our choices made
That God did not approve.

Is anything too hard for God?
Is there nothing He can't do?
The lesson we learn from Sarah
Speaks loudly to us, too.

As we wait and we watch and pray
With confidence, rest assured,
In perfect time He'll answer us
As promised in His Word.

Let It Shine!

The little lamp set on a shelf;
Although it could not shine,
He knew that it was his purpose
And a part of his design.

But he couldn't understand it--
Just why he could not glow,
For the other lamps around him
Their bright lights would always show.

One day he asked the other lamps,
"Why do you brightly shine?
What must I do, may I ask you,
To release this light of mine?"

They said, "Now it is quite simple:
Just plug into God's pow'r;
You'll release the light within you
To dispel the darkest hour.

"Though God gave you the potential,
When planning your design,
He said you must receive His pow'r
To illuminate and shine."

The little lamp said, "Plug me in!"
Let God's power flow through me
To release His light within me
So his love the world may see."

He felt God's pow'r begin to flow,
His light illuminate.
Together with the "Light of lights"
His began to celebrate.

Rejoicing in his fav'rite song,
"This Little Light of Mine,"
The little lamp now loudly sang,
"Let it shine, Lord, let it shine!"

Good News of Great Joy - Christmas Poem

"For unto us a child is born"
They could hear the angel cry.
The lonely shepherds in a field
Fixed their gaze on heaven high.

So amazed, they stared in wonder
At the angel's ev'ry word,
Trembling at the glorious sight
And the proclamation heard.

"Fear not! I bring good news to you
Of joy for everyone;
Go now to Bethlehem and see
The incarnate Word, God's Son.

At once the sky above was filled
With a great angelic choir;
The message of the Savior's birth
Ignited a holy fire.

Their hearts did burn within their souls
At the wondrous words they said,
And hastily the shepherds went
To the Christ child's manger bed.

Kneeling in reverent wonder,
Bursting hearts could not contain
The joy that leaped within their souls
That no words could e'er explain.

With haste they left the holy Child
There to spread the news around
That Jesus Christ the Son of God
From Heaven to earth came down.

The news took wings and soared in flight
Of the Christ child's humble birth.
The King of Kings and Lord of Lords
Had now come to reign on earth.

Gramma's Patchwork Quilt

My Gramma loved to make for us
A quilt hand stitched with love.
Each finished one a masterpiece
That we were so proud of.

Mom said that I was wrapped in love
The day that I was born,
For Gramma made me my first quilt
From dresses she had worn.

Now that quilt became a treasure,
Held close through passing years.
It brought me so much comfort;
I felt my Gramma near.

"Each stitch was made for you with love,"
I heard my Gramma say.
"Each patch holds priceless memories
I've passed to you today.

An heirloom you will treasure
With every passing year.
May it cover you and comfort you
When my arms cannot be near."

Years now have passed, and I a bride,
Then heard my Gramma say,
"I've made for you a bridal quilt
For this your special day."

Her fingers, bent and feeble,
Made from her wedding dress
A priceless patchwork quilt for me,
A treasure I confess.

"Each stitch was made for you with love,"
I heard my Gramma say.
"Each patch holds priceless memories
I've passed to you today.

An heirloom you will treasure
With every passing year.
May it cover you and comfort you
When my arms cannot be near."

Now Gramma is up in Heaven,
But before she passed away
She reminded me of her love,
And I can hear her say ...

"I will always be close by;
I'm never far away.
Each quilt holds priceless memories
I've passed to you today.

An heirloom you will treasure
With every passing year.
May it cover you and comfort you
When my arms cannot be near."

Heart of Grace

"Hearts for sale!" the gentleman cried, "Come in and look around.
If you'd like a brand new heart, then right here one can be found."
I went inside and I could see that hearts were everywhere--
Hearts to meet one's every need, some priceless and some rare.

These were hearts to hold one's treasures, but they were much too small.
And hearts for pleasure lovers, but they would not do at all.
Then after I had looked around inside this man's heart store,
I asked if these were all he had, and he said, "I have one more."

"It just came in; it's in the back. I'll go and find its place.
It truly is a unique heart that's been named 'Heart of Grace.'
I know this heart's the one for you. I'll find it and you'll see
That it's the one you're looking for, I'm sure that you'll agree.

"This heart is large and beautiful; I know it will catch your eye.
It's not like any other, and this one you'll want to try."
He brought the heart for me to see. I said "Yes, that's the one."
For it overflowed with blessing where inside it lived God's Son.

Jesus filled this loving heart and His grace there overflowed.
A garden grew down deep inside where seeds of love were sowed.
"This is the heart I'm looking for. How much will it cost me?"
The kind man placed it in my hands and said, "This one is free."

Jesus paid its price in full and deep inside He lives;
And whosoever receives God's Son, receives the life He gives.
I took the heart and walked away as happy as could be,
For I could sing "Amazing Grace" since Jesus lived in me.

Heaven's Party for the King - Christmas Poem

All the Holy Host of Heaven
Gathered around the throne.
For they heard the trumpet sounding
As Gabriel's horn was blown.
The angel choir was singing,
"Good news to you we bring.
Today the Son of God was born
On earth as King of Kings."

"Hallelujah, hallelujah,"
You could hear the angels sing.
"Joy to the world, eternal life
Forevermore He brings.
Peace on the earth, goodwill to men,"
All the angels did proclaim.
They sang their praises to the Lord
And blessed His holy name.

'Twas a time of celebration
Heaven's party for the King.
You could hear shouts of rejocing
That made Heaven's rafters ring.
For Jesus Christ, the Son of God,
Was born of virgin birth.
The everlasting King of Kings
Had come to live on earth.

All the halls of Heaven echoed
And were filled with joyful sound.
What a time of jubliation
In all heaven could be found,
For the long-awaited Christ child
Would redeem the soul of man.
The lamb of God in a manger low
Fulfilled God's promised plan.

I Thirst

In the scorching heat
Of life's adversities,
I thirst.
In the dry, mundane, common experiences
Of daily living,
I thirst.
My tongue is parched,
And my soul craves the pure water
That earthly springs
Can not satisfy.
As a waterless soul in the desert,
I yearn for a cup of Living Water,
Heavenly water that springs from the One
Who alone can satisfy my heart's longing.
Only this water can quench.
Only this water can eternally gratify
The parched craving of my barren soul.
I lift my empty vessel high
That the Living Water
May fill my cup to overflowing.
He sees my empty vessel
And lavishly pours Himself out
Till my cup runs over
And the barren desert in my soul
Burst forth in profuse bloom.
I drink the Living Water
And I thirst no more.

"Whosoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life" (John 4:14).

A MIRACLE TO SEE

"Show me a miracle;
Just one let me see.
Show me a miracle,"
He said skeptically.

I held up a mirror,
"Now what do you see?
Here's the greatest mir'cle
That ever could be."

"And just what do you mean?
He said, "All I see
Reflecting back clearly's
An image of me."

I prayed as I answered,
"That mir'cle is you,
For God made you special;
So much you can do.

"He uniquely made you
Of perfect design.
Another one like you
No one will e'er find.

"And you can move mountains
Or walk on the sea.
For God can work through you
Miraculously."

The boy pondered deeply
The words that I said,
And understood clearly
As he bowed his head.

"Dear Father," he then prayed,
"I desire to be
Your perfect reflection,
A Mir'cle to see."

A LESSON FROM JERICHO

The wall was strong and mighty,
"There's no way to get in,"
So the soldiers thought in Jericho
Who watched with a smirky grin.

The Israelite soldiers marched and marched
Around the wall each day
While the soldiers peered from atop the wall
In complete and utter dismay.

"What are they doing?
Do they think that they
Can bring these mighty walls down?"
Said the haughty men of Jericho
As they watched from higher ground.

Then on day seven you could hear the count,
Excitement stirred within,
"They've passed this way once before.
Now here they come again!"

"One...two...three...four...five...six...seven,
They've finally stopped at last."
But then behold the air was filled
With the sound of trumpet blasts.

The ground began to tremble,
The walls began to shake,
As Joshua was heard to shout aloud,
"The city is ours to take."

The walls like cookies crumbed
As the Jericho soldiers gasped.
When Joshua gave the battle call,
They knew they'd breathed their last.

For God was with His children
In all His power and might,
And He gave strength and victory
To the faithful Israelites.

The mighty wall of Jericho
Which once stood straight and tall
Reminds us that the Lord above
Is truly Lord of all.

We must not question His commands
But trust Him and obey,
And all the walls that Satan builds
Will crumble just like clay.

FAITH IS THE KEY

Enclosed within a tight-sealed room
I at once began to explore,
And noticed something was missing,
For there was no knob on the door.

As I peeked outside the window,
My eyes caught a heavenly view;
I heard the voice of God calling,
And I said, "Lord, what must I do?"

Down on my knees, I cried "Jesus,
I hear your voice calling today.
But, Lord, I can't open the door;
Only You can provide the way."

As soon as I cried to the Lord,
The door swung wide before me;
I stood in total amazement
As I witnessed the Lord's glory.

He held the key there in His hand
To open the door to step through.
He said, "When you began to pray,
It unlocked this closed door for you."

Total amazement and wonder
Filled my heart with awesome delight;
As we stepped outside, I witnessed
A glorious heavenly light.

Bathed in the warmth of His presence
As I stood and witnessed the view,
I remembered the door with no knob
God had opened for me to walk through.

He said, "I go, but remember
My words that I now leave with you;
Faith is the key that opens locked doors
Whenever you kneel and pray through."

DANDELION COURAGE

These persistent little flowers,
How abundantly they grow
Through sidewalk cracks and nurtured lawns,
And they put on quite a show.

They're mowed and trampled underfoot,
And yet still they reappear
So persistently determined,
For they never shrink in fear.

No one can deny their beauty
When a child before you stands
As he lifts his treasures upward
Clasped so tightly in his hand.

These true symbols of persistence
E'er remind us to hold fast,
Undefeated through life's trials,
Anchored sure in stormy blasts.

The little Dande"lion" roars
In triumph though it is small,
There depicting Godly courage,
Testifying to us all.

CHRISTMAS TREASURE - Friendship Poem

Not gaily wrapped presents
Placed under a tree,
Nor carolers singing
Joyfully to me.
Not bright lights and tinsel,
Though lovely they be,
Means the most
At Christmas to me.
The Christmas treasure
That's dear to my heart
Is the gift of your friendship
And the joy it imparts.
For God's truly blessed me
By giving to me
A gift that is priceless
A treasure, you see.
And I thank God daily
For a blessing like you
And pray God will bless you
In all that you do.
May God give you this Christmas
And all the year through
A special anointing
In all that you do.
May your family be blessed
May God's presence be near
Not only at Christmas
But throughout the New Year.
May the joy of the season
Remain in your heart
And God's peace found in Jesus
Never depart.
Merry Christmas to you,
My message in sum,
A reminder to you
THE BEST'S YET TO COME!

CHRISTMAS CANDY CANES

Every year at Christmastime
Mom would decorate our tree
With candy canes both large and small;
It was such a sight to see.

And then she would tell the story
All about the candy cane,
The legend how it came to be
She'd then begin to explain.

"There once was a candy maker
Who wanted something to be
A witness during Christmastime
To symbolize Christ's story.

"Christ's purity is seen in white,
A child born of virgin birth.
The stripes of red," my mama said,
"Tell of Christ's suff'ring on earth."

She'd hold the candy cane in hand,
And the letter "J" we'd see.
"'J' is for Jesus," she would say,
"Born our dear Savior to be."

Then she showed us a shepherd's staff
And explained to us that day,
That Jesus was the Good Shepherd
To guide and show us the way.

She said, "The cane is rock solid;
A firm foundation to stand,
Jesus is the Rock of Ages
In a stormy, weary land.

The candy cane told the story
Of a Savior's love for me,
A symbol of His life and love
That I could plainly see.

And every time I see one
I'm reminded of the way
That mama would tell the story
Of the meaning of Christmas day.

MARRIAGE SONG

Two hearts unite today as one,
Entwined with cords unseen.
Love is the thread that binds our lives,
Nothing can come between.

Three cords are woven here today,
We're joined with God above.
United we fore'er will stand
Supported by His love.

We begin today life's journey,
As hand in hand we go,
Encouraged by the hope we share
And the grace God will bestow.

Eternally the vows we pledge
Fall on God's list'ning ear,
And we ask God to bless our home
With His presence ever near.

Now we stand before Him humbled,
Before fam'ly and friends
Committing to each other
A love that never ends.

Two lives in perfect harmony,
Creating sweet accord,
A marriage song forever sung
Anointed by the Lord.

TREASURED MOMENTS WITH MOM

Each night it was a ritual
Before Susie went to bed,
Treasured moments spent with mom
With her fav'rite story read.

Mom carefully turned the pages,
Caressing every word;
And Susie listened carefully
To each story that she heard.

There was David and Goliath,
There was Jonah and the Whale,
How Jesus in the storm-tossed boat
Spoke and calmed the mighty gale.

Then after each bedtime story,
They would kneel beside her bed,
And they would talk to Jesus
Before pillowing her head.

Then mom tucked her in and whispered,
"Remember, Jesus loves you."
As she pulled the blanket o'er her,
She would say, "I love you, too."

"May in Jesus you rest sweetly.
May He keep you in His care.
May Christ tenderly watch o'er you.
This is my earnest prayer.

"Just as this blanket covers you,
May God's sweet love now enfold,
And wrap you up in Jesus,
Closely to His heart now hold."

The years have passed and Susie now
Has a daughter of her own,
And she makes her bedtime special
With some treasured time alone.

For of all her precious memories
There were none she held more dear
Then the moments shared at bedtime
When her mother prayed, she'd hear:

"May in Jesus you rest sweetly
May He keep you in His care.
May Christ tenderly watch o'er you.
This is my earnest prayer.

"Just as this blanket covers you,
May God's sweet love now enfold,
And wrap you up in Jesus,
Closely to His heart now hold."

AMAZING GRACE

Now Grace was known around her town
As someone who really cared;
And amazing Grace they called her,
For with ev'ryone she shared.

There was no need too great or small,
For dear Grace was always there.
She never came without a smile,
Never left without a prayer.

Though she had no earthly riches,
What she had she freely gave;
And for each one who needed God
She would pray that He would save.

So many came to know the Lord,
For Christ used her gift to show
That His amazing love and grace
Through a life could overflow.

Abundantly she'd sow God's seed
And He'd bless and make it grow,
He multiplied it manifold
A rich harvest there to show.

Now amazing Grace has gone home,
And her seeds scattered abroad
Have taken root and born rich fruit
In the Kingdom of our God.

A harvest for eternity
Of righteousness can be found,
Because the Lord's amazing Grace
Shared His love with all around.

SANCTIFY ME

Lord, wash me with your waves of grace;
Bathe me in Your mercy's flood.
Shower me with loving kindness,
Cover o'er with Jesus' blood.

Let me taste Your sweet forgiveness;
Feed my hunger with Your Word.
Quench my thirst with living water
Till my heart is wholly stirred.

Let Your holy Wind empower,
Lift beneath my wings to soar,
Raising me to heights of service
Where I've never flown before.

Oh, Lord, ignite my heart with fire;
With Your breath, set me aflame.
Sanctify me with Your power.
To proclaim Christ's holy Name.

REMEMBER MY PROMISE

When the way that you travel
Seems all uphill,
That is the time, my child,
To pray and be still.

And remember that I am
Close by your side;
I never will leave you,
Your way I will guide.

I will be your strong shelter
When storms surround;
When winds blow the strongest,
My grace there abounds.

When the darkness o'er shadows,
You feel alone,
My strong arms will hold you,
My light will be shone.

Just remember my promise,
My plan's to bless
Your life through hard trials,
My Word does confess.

For your future is secure,
You nev'r I'll leave;
I'll be with you always;
Just trust and believe.

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.'" (Jeremiah 29:11

THINK OF TOMORROW'S SUNRISE

Don't dwell on yesterday's sunset
That fore'er remains in our past,
But think of tomorrow's sunrise
And the rays of hope it will cast.

Think not of springtime and summer
That have quickly passed by our way,
But enjoy autumn that follows
In all its glorious display.

Dwell not on yesterday's failures
That only bring pain to the heart,
Think of tomorrow's successes,
For each day we have a new start.

Think not of clouds dark and stormy
Obscuring the sun from our view,
Instead think of clear summer nights
When the stars are all in full view.

Think not "If only I'd done this,"
How different my life would be,
But learn from yesterday's failures,
And choose to live differently.

A SYMBOL OF GRACE (Rahab)

It doesn't matter what you've done;
God stands ready to forgive.
He will cleanse of every sin
When your life to Him you give.

Rahab found God's grace was great
To cleanse and set her free.
And God looked deep within her heart
And He used her mightily.

God opened up her eyes to see
His great plan for Jericho.
By faith she saw what was to come
For our God had let her know.

She hid two men that Joshua sent
Upon her roof one day,
Then lowered them down by a rope
And sent them on their way.

She said, "I know your God is God
In Heaven and earth below,
And when you come to take this land
True kindness you will show."

A scarlet cord they gave to her
To place where they could see,
Would bind them to their promise
To protect her family.

So when the walls of Jericho
All fell crashing to the ground,
Rahab and her family
In her home were safely found.

There a scarlet cord was hanging
Clearly from her window sill;
A symbol of God's love and grace,
His promise to fulfill.

God's rich grace and forgiveness
And true mercies ever shine,
For now Rahab was included
In our Savior's family line.

A SPECIAL GIFT FROM GOD (Friendship Poem)

Side by side we've climbed the hills
And walked through valleys, too;
We've weathered many storms of life,
But God has seen us through.

Over smooth and bumpy roads
We've walked close side by side
We've laughed through grassy, flowered fields;
Through storms of life we've cried.

We share a special friendship
That time can not sever;
Though we may walk down diff'rent paths
Our friendship is forev'r.

Treasured mem'ries we'll hold dear,
Looking back from where we've trod,
Knowing that our friendship rare
Is a special gift from God.

GOD TURNS TRIALS INTO BLESSINGS (Joseph)

When Joseph was just a young man,
He dreamed he would one day be
Empowered with authority
To rule o'er his family.

So jealous and resentful that
His brothers began to scheme;
They devised a plan to sell him,
For they all despised his dream.

They sold him to some Ishmaelites
God directed by his way,
Who safely then escorted him
To where he would rule one day.

He went to live with royalty;
God directed his path there.
Before the king he lived a life
Of true righteousness and prayer.

God blessed him with prosperity
In everything he'd do,
For the Lord was daily with him
In each task he would pursue.

Now all was well until one day
When he was enticed to sin,
Though to God he remained faithful
And refused to e'er give in.

Accused of something he'd not done,
To prison he had to go;
But God attended to him there,
His rich blessings to bestow.

In prison he would then acquire
All the training he would need -
For leadership he learned there
And the patience to succeed.

God turned trials into blessings;
They were not as they first seemed,
For God walked him through the valley
To fulfill what he had dreamed.

NEVER ALONE

Never will I leave you,
This promise I have made.
When your day has lost its light,
You need not be afraid.

When you feel so lonely,
Know I will be right there.
When you call my name, I'll hear
And answer ev'ry prayer.

You'll never be alone,
For I will be with you.
Wher'er you go, always know
My strength will see you through.

Hold fast to my promise,
Obey my ev'ry word.
Then you will succeed and know
My presence is assured.

I will not forsake you;
Take courage and be strong.
When you're lost, I'll be your way
When your journey's long.

Forever I will be
With you eternally.
Trust me; never be afraid,
For I your strength will be.

FRUITFUL IN THE LAND OF SUFFERING

Very slowly she packed her bags for God had let her know
She was moving to a distant land where many dared not go.
Their ending destination was the Land of Suffering,
Not a journey she had hoped for in the dawn of early spring.

Starting through the wilderness, she held tightly to His hand
As He led her past the dangers through a very dismal land.
God then guided through the valley that bore the name "Despair."
Yet, as they passed, she noticed that a sweet fragrance filled the air.

Endless fields with fragrant blossoms, as far as eye could see,
Covered the Land of Suffering, and she said, "How can this be?"
God said, "So often rain will fall upon each stately tree
Producing scented blossoms where sweet fruit will one day be."

"I brought you here so you would know, through suff'ring, fruit you'll bear,
And the fragrance of your presence will bless people everywhere.
And while suffering is not easy, there's a purpose here, you see.
It's preparing you to bear much fruit that'll last eternally."

She cried, "May I be a fragrant tree bearing fruit for You.
I'll accept my suffering with grace, if that's what I must do."
She remained in the garden in the Land of Suffering
Yielding blossoms of rare beauty and became a true blessing."

KEEP PRESSING ON

The children of God marched through hot desert sand,
Opposed by their enemies on every hand,
But they kept on marching as God's holy band
Until finally they occupied their promised land.

Noah built an ark far from sea on dry sod.
He listened and he obeyed the word of God.
Noah's neighbors laughed as he built his large boat,
But when the rains poured down, Noah went afloat.

When Daniel was told he no longer could pray,
He remained obedient to God every day.
They threw him down deep into the lion's den,
But God shut the lion's mouth as he prayed again.

Jesus remainded faithful even to the cross,
He suffered and He gave His life to save the lost.
They crucified and buried the Son of Man,
But then three days later He arose again.

So press on when the night is long.
Press on! Keep on singing your song.
When you're feeling discouraged and your strength is gone,
Fix your eyes on Jesus and keep pressing on.

LOVE IS THE KEY

Love's the key that unlocks the door
To welcome Jesus in
To free lost souls who're without hope
And imprisoned by their sin.

Just a simple act of kindness
To someone with a need
Will cultivate a hardened heart
To sow a spiritual seed.

If we're to see lost souls set free,
Our lives must Christ convey,
So they can see God's light in us
And will follow in His Way.

Ev'ry random act of kindness
Lights a path to their heart's door,
And walls they've built to keep one out
Fall crashing to the floor.

We must love them like the Father
If we want to hear them say,
"I have come to know the Savior
As He lived through you each day."

DAUGHTERS OF A KING

Our Father is Almighty God;
We are daughters of a king.
We're clothed in robes of righteousness;
And we're veiled in His blessing.

The Father calls us His "princess,"
And we are His great delight.
A privileged heritage we share;
We are precious in his sight.

He crowns us with loving kindness,
Adorns us with jewels of grace,
And His mercy e'er surrounds us,
As His arms of love embrace.

We're daughters of the King of Kings,
And that makes us royalty.
He's placed us in His kingdom
There to reign in majesty.
