BOUNDLESS GRACE (Jesus' death)

God turned away from His only Son
For He could not bear to see
The massive weight of sin He bore
As He hung upon the tree.

Scarred with deep stripes from brutal blows
Endured for you and me,
The sinless lamb, the Son of Man,
Bore our pain and penalty.

His amazing grace and mercy flowed
With each drop of blood He shed.
With head lifted high towards Heaven's sky
These impassioned words He said:

"Forgive them Father" - with love He spoke -
"For they know not what they do."
"It is finished," He cried, and then He died;
His redemptive work was through.

Salvation sealed - His love revealed -
His boundless grace portrayed -
Death's chains set free from you and me
When down His life He laid.
