Your life is an example for those who walk behind;
You've shown us how to truly live, how to seek and find
Treasures that last forever, that can't be bought or sold,
Like honesty and virtue--more precious than pure gold.
You've taught us to laugh and love, find joy in simple things
Like babbling brooks, starry nights, and robins as they sing.
You've taught us that success isn't measured with a rod,
But only is determined by what we've done for God.
By example you have shown us how to sacrifice,
That to reach our lofty goals we have to pay the price;
We must fix our eyes on Jesus--keep on pressing on,
Hurdling all the obstacles until the race is won.
Heaven only truly knows your contributions made,
Words alone aren't adequate to sing your accolades.
Your life is such a blessing, we all are richer, too;
You're God's gift of love to us--we're grateful God made you.
