PASSIONATE PURSUIT

One day a lonely sheep did stray, far from his flock did roam;
For in search of lush green pastures, he wandered away from home.
But when the Shepherd made His count, He stopped at ninety-nine,
And said, "There were a hundred sheep. My lost one I must find."

He left the ninety-nine behind to pass'onately pursue
The sheep before He came to harm; 'twas what He had to do.
Then a song of celebration resounded in the air;
And it filled the ridge and valley, and echoed everywhere.

The one lost sheep the shepherd found rejoined the flock that day;
And the shepherd was rejoicing o'er the sheep gone astray.
The one lost sheep that now was found gave cause to celebrate;
To have him home back with the flock had opened joy's floodgate.

And this is but one example of Christ's great love for you.
For when you returned to the fold, He celebrated, too.
A party was thrown in Heaven; and, if you only knew.
'Twas a day of celebration by angels just for you.
