THE PATHWAY TO BLESSINGS

The pathway to God's blessings
Often leads through barren land.
It winds and turns through wilderness
As it crosses desert sand.

God leads where He can test us
And will teach us to trust Him,
To see if we'll still follow Him
When our way is dark and grim.

He leads us where we'll hunger,
Then by his hand He'll provide;
He'll rain manna from heaven so
Our hunger is satisfied.

Just like an earthly father
Disciplines with love his son,
Likewise our Heavenly Father
Disciplines in love each one.

He's teaching us He's faithful
Through each hardship that we face,
That He is more than sufficient
To supply us daily grace.

Our journey is not easy,
But for us God knows what's best.
When we've made it through our desert
We will find His promised rest.

"Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD" (Deuteronomy 8:2-3, NIV).
