Have you heard about the virus,
It's potentiality
To be spread so very quickly
As it's passed from you and me?
This ole virus is contagious,
And it cannot be contained;
But for all who've been affected
They have never e'er complained.
This virus has been known to change
An entire community,
That once it starts it can't be stopped
As it spreads so rapidly.
The name they've given this virus
Is spelled S-M-I-L-E.
It originates in the heart
But the symptoms we can see.
Someone's eyes will brightly sparkle.
Their mouth will turn up and stay.
Hands uplift and wave in gesture,
And kind words you'll hear one say.
There's one symptom of this virus
That affects the person's feet.
It just seems one can't control them
As they dance a happy beat.
We will start the virus spreading
As we S-M-I-L-E.
Let's pass it on to all we meet,
And to everyone we see.

- I was born in the naval port of Norfolk, Virginia, the daughter of a US Navy Master Chief. With the exception of 1 year living in Boston, Mass.,and two years in Hanau, Germany, I have lived in the historic state of Virginia all my life. I now reside in the beautiful Roanoke Valley. Though raised in a Christian home, I was in my early 20’s before making a commitment of my life to Christ. Since then I have spent many years in full-time ministry. I am currently employed as an accountant with a Christian child care center in Roanoke and also serve as the Office Manager and Scheduling Coordinator for singer and songwriter Mary Rice Hopkins who resides in California.
