LIFE'S COZY CHAIR

Too often we feel "comfy"
In life's reclining chair;
We lie back and grow lazy
Without a single care.

While all 'round our neighborhood
Hurt souls in distress call,
We oft recline in our chairs
Apologetical.

"We need our rest." "We've worked hard."
"This chair feels mighty fine."
"I'll leave the job for others
While cozy I recline."

Yet one day we'll answer for
Each hour we have laid
Reclined in life's cozy chair,
No thought of others made.

So Lord deliv'r us from seats
Of comfort and of ease;
Lead us to discipleship
That starts on bended knees.

Change our heart, O Lord, to do
The work You'd have us do;
Then we will find perfect rest
Rewarded serving You.
