When drowning in pain and heartache
And submerged in seas of deep grief,
Walking 'cross our troubled waters,
Jesus calms and brings us relief.
He offers us abundant life,
Gives joy for our sadness and tears,
When life's swelling tides o'erwhelm us,
His comforting presence appears.
He'll not let us drown-He's promised!
Love's arms will caress and surround,
He'll always be there to rescue --
Replacing our feet on dry ground.
Though life has its sea of troubles,
Clouds form and storm winds fiercely blow,
If we place trust in our Savior,
Fierce currents won't drag us below.
Life's sea of troubles will grow calm,
Where there walks the Savior of Men,
For He'll deliver from our storm,
Restoring us peace once again.

- I was born in the naval port of Norfolk, Virginia, the daughter of a US Navy Master Chief. With the exception of 1 year living in Boston, Mass.,and two years in Hanau, Germany, I have lived in the historic state of Virginia all my life. I now reside in the beautiful Roanoke Valley. Though raised in a Christian home, I was in my early 20’s before making a commitment of my life to Christ. Since then I have spent many years in full-time ministry. I am currently employed as an accountant with a Christian child care center in Roanoke and also serve as the Office Manager and Scheduling Coordinator for singer and songwriter Mary Rice Hopkins who resides in California.
